NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE

Project Title: FDA-23-1263394 MesaLabs Sensors and Thermocouples to be used in conjunction with the existing ViewPoint temperature monitoring system by MESA LABORATORIES INC.

Announcement No: FDA-23-1263394

The Government hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source contract to MESA LABORATORIES INC for MesaLabs Sensors and Thermocouples to be used in conjunction with the existing ViewPoint temperature monitoring system by MESA LABORATORIES INC. The total estimated value is less than $71K.

This sole source contracting action a notice pursuant to FAR 5.203(a) for the requirement based on the application of FAR 6.302-1.  This hereby constitutes a synopsis of this requirement.

This is an award under NAICS Code 334516. The Irvine Laboratory - Human and Animal Food (IRVLHAF) utilizes ViewPoint, a web-based temperature monitoring system. It is a proprietary system that is created and maintained by MESA LABORATORIES INC.  Only MESA LABORATORIES INC. can provide  sensors and thermocouples that are competible with their existing ViewPoint system. There are no substitutes. This procurement should be sole sourced to MESA LABORATORIES INC. Responses to this notice must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not be cost or time prohibitive, and would not hinder the mission objective of the FDA.

The determination not to compete this proposed contract action solely within the discretion of the Government.  Information received will normally be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice.
