VLS MK08 Explosive Bolts and Shipping Brackets

The proposed contract action is for MK 08 Explosive Bolts and Shipping Brackets for which the Naval Surface Warfare Center (Corona Division) intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Cartridge Actuated Devices (CAD). CAD is identified on Weapons Specification (WS) 33598A as the only approved source of supply that meets form, fit, function and are approved for this application. Notwithstanding, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation in accordance with the attached Draft Statement of Work (SOW) and drawings, which shall be considered by the agency.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona Division, is issuing this pre-solicitation to satisfy the requirements in accordance with (IAW) FAR 5.204 and FAR 5.207.

In addition, this notice shall be used to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to meet the requirements for the performance and delivery of VLS MK08 Explosive Bolts on a Firm Fixed Price (FFP).

The Government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. Based on the responses to this pre-solicitation notice, this requirement may be set-aside for small businesses or procured through full and open competition.
