This is a Request for Information (RFI). The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is soliciting information related to auroral instrument development and related capabilities. This RFI is for informational purposes only; it is not a request for proposals or a solicitation for a contract, grant award, or other transaction agreement, and it does not obligate the Government in any way.
To better meet its desired goals for space weather, NOAA’s National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) is exploring opportunities to host instruments capable of observing the aurora on a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite. This RFI is a request for industry and academia (or any organization capable of producing an auroral instrument) to demonstrate their ability to produce a space-based auroral instrument. As specified below to provide relevant information and thereby demonstrate their technological capability. Please see attached for further information.
Comments and questions regarding this RFI must be submitted to the Contracting Officer at the email address provided above by June 1, 2023 at 2 PM Eastern Time.
Capability Statements must be received via email by the Contracting Officer at the address provided below no later than 4 PM Eastern Time on June 23, 2023.
