Description
PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE:
PURPOSE:
The TACOM LCMC, Integrated Logistics Support Center, Armor Maneuver Group is conducting a market survey to identify, as potential sources, companies that may possess the expertise and capabilities to acquire and to store a specified quantity of out-of-production material. Components that shall be procured, managed, and stored include:
- Electro-mechanical devices and subcomponents
- Circuits and subcomponents
- Video display glass
- Electrical power supplies and subcomponents
- Electrical and electronic connectors.
The U.S. Government is seeking qualified sources with experience in procuring, storing, and managing the last production runs of obsolete components (out of production materials) for the Abrams family of vehicles, their systems and subsystems.
These components include but are not limited to Electro-mechanical devices and subcomponents, circuits and subcomponents, video display glass, electrical power supplies and subcomponents, and electrical and electrical connectors. Many of these components are high-tech, low volume, source controlled, or unique components that require a special vendor base.
The US Government requires the potential contractor to identify parts in the Abrams family of vehicles supply chain that are going out of production. The contractor would also require sufficient knowledge of and relationships with vendors in the supply chain to be informed of vendors going out of business and vendors otherwise at risk to the supply chain. The contractor shall provide a mechanism to purchase part or all of the supplier's remaining inventory to ensure these items are available for continued, uninterrupted Abrams production capability and spare parts replacement.
