Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation being issued under the authority of FAR Parts 12/15. The Library of Congress (Library), one of the largest libraries in the world with over 150 million items, is seeking a single or multiple award contract for general collections care in two service areas: binding and rehousing.
Library binding is the most basic and universal form of preservation a library performs. Library bound books last longer and can be less expensive to maintain over time. Binding secures and protects softbound monograph and serial volumes, which may vary in length from a few pages to hundreds of pages. Volumes may range in size from a few inches in both dimensions to large folios. Commercial binding is the largest portion of the desired contractor support but other services secured by this procurement shall include binding (including digicover binding) and housing of damaged items.
Please see the attached documents for the full solicitation and its attachments.
