Description

Attaching Response to Questions & Extending solicitation end date to November 25, 2024 Expected delivery date of device/equipment once awarded: 01/01/2025 If not a brand-new contract, could you please provide the current / previous contract number? Brand New contract Printing on 20 long paper is non-typical and often requires additional feeding systems and can thus increase the cost of a device. The industry standard is 19.2 .  To promote Fair and Open competition, will the VA consider revising the paper size/length supported as up to 19.2 ? No, we would like to be able to print up to 12 x27 .  This will support printing larger poster sized projects. Industry copier standard booklet making sizes are 7.2 x 10.2 13 x 19.2 . To accommodate a sheet size of 10.0 x 20.5 will require a larger, more robust booklet finisher and thus increase the cost and footprint significantly. To promote Fair and Open competition, will the VA consider revising the booklet specifications to 7.2 x 10.2 13 x 19.2 ? Yes Folding envelopes is not a function supported by industry standard copiers. To promote Fair and Open competition, will the VA consider removing envelopes from the Folding Capabilities #4 requirement? Yes, but we would like to maintain the ability of letter folding. Will the VA elaborate as to what In coils, wire, 2-8 hole varieties means and the specific function needed? The ability to use different types of materials for binding books, booklets and various types of projects.  We would like the flexibility to provide different options when creating booklets that require binding such as plastic, wired or metal binding solutions and the ability to hole punch 2-8 holes depending on the size of the project. Does the VA require the capability of trimming the Face of Booklets? Yes Does the VA require a dedicated Print Processing Controller/Server or just capabilities of color printing from a VA server? Require a dedicated print processing controller/server. Would you be able to provide an estimate of the total volume of copies you anticipate on producing? This is not something that we have tracked.  This machine will not be a regular copier.  This production machine will allow to keep larger print jobs in house and flexibility on high end projects.  In the past any print that was over 500 copies was outsourced to a community vendor.  It will be difficult to provide an accurate estimate as far as copies or prints that we will use.
