Description

This synopsis publicizes the U. S. Forest Service’s (USFS) intent to obtain commercially available smokejumper aircraft services, which are operated and maintained by the Contractor, in support of fire suppression nationwide.  Smokejumper aircraft are national resources which will be dispatched nationwide and outside the continental United States (OCONUS).  Each smokejumper aircraft will operate from a designated base or alternate base throughout the contiguous United States and OCONUS for the exclusive use of the Government.  Aircraft will be moved and stationed at bases throughout the United States, as fire support is needed.

It is anticipated the request for proposals will be posted to SAM.gov on or about 1 October 2024.  The USFS anticipates utilizing multiple award task order contracts (MATOC) for these services with an estimated period of performance of 20 March 2024 through 31 December 2033.  Once contracts are awarded, the USFS intends to compete and issue exclusive use (EU) and call when needed (CWN) task orders to MATOC awardees.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 481211 Nonscheduled Chartered Passenger Air Transportation with an associated size standard of 1,500 employees.  The Product Service Code (PSC) is F003 Natural Resources/Conservation- Forest-Range Fire Suppression/Presuppression.

This acquisition is a 100% small business set-aside.
