6640--Intent to Sole Source AMSCO Research Autoclave Replacement Systems

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Atlanta VA Healthcare System, Department of Research intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, with Steris Corp for AMSCO 250LS Small and 630LS Medium research autoclave replacement systems. Investigators at the Atlanta VA Healthcare System need to replace research autoclave units that have exceeded the life expectancy of the equipment, that no longer have replacement parts available, and that are critical to maintaining BSL-2 sterility and biosafety in ongoing research projects. The replacement research autoclaves need to be compatible with existing building facilities and infrastructure (building steam, electrical, and sewer) that use proprietary Steris technology. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement and who is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), authorized dealer, authorized distributor, or authorized reseller of all the items listed above, may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Thursday, December 30, 2021, 10:00 AM, EST. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
