Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - St. Paul District seeks a contractor to refurbish 13 anchor bars removed from locks and dams on the Upper Mississippi River. There are two different types of anchor bar assemblies. Condition of each assembly varies, but most have been sitting in storage yards for at least one year, and have large amounts of rust and corrosion. 

The contractor will perform the following services:

  • Pick up the bars from the Lock & Dam 5 Storage Yard in Cochrane, WI
  • Disassemble sleeve nut from each anchor bar assembly
  • Clean and degrease each component (removing all rust and corrosion)
  • Sandblast all parts to remove paint and debris
  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of each assembly
  • Verify all critical dimensions
  • Clean and/or refinish threads and nuts
  • Clear grease ports and replace with new grease zerks
  • Paint all parts (3 coats - MPI 19, MPI 108, MPI 72)
  • Reassemble each anchor bar assembly
  • Delivery to Lock & Dam 3 (Welch, MN) and Lock & Dam 5A (Fountain City, WI)

OFFEROR SHALL BE REGISTERED IN SAM (System for Award Management) https://www.sam.gov to include the FAR and DFARS Representations and Certifications (Reps & Certs) sections with the NAICS code applicable to the solicitation.
