Description

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) hereby notifies industry of its intent to hold a virtual Industry Day, via Teams, on or about March 15, 2023 from 1:00 – 2:00 EST.  The purpose of the Industry Day will be to provide vendors with information on the intended award of a Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract for a one (1) year base period and four (4) (1) year option periods for Fiber Option Cable Installation Services for the Linear Ground Detection System (LGDS) Program.  THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THE INDUSTRY DAY OR TO OTHERWISE PAY FOR INFORMATION RECEIVED IN RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE.

The fiber optic cable installation services required will include, but will not be limited to:  site surveys; engineering design; identification of underground and surface utilities; construction consisting of trenching, laying of cable, shelters, connection junctions, repair of degraded existing fiber, spurs; Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) testing; site restoration – ground, roads, environmental; documentation of all aspects of the work including completion of punch lists and final “as built” drawings and supporting data.  On-site work will be performed at specified locations near the Northern and Southern borders of the United States.

The Industry Day will address the work to be performed in more detail, information concerning the planned contract and the ordering process and information concerning the solicitation, evaluation and award process.

Vendors must pre-register by completing and sending the attached document (Attachment A) to usbppmolgds@cbp.dhs.gov.  Vendor personnel must be either U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents (Green Card holders).  Each vendor shall be limited to not more than three representatives.  Only vendor personnel who are pre-registered will be admitted to the Teams meeting.
