Description
SCOPE OF WORK The contractor shall provide all material, labor, equipment and supervision required to accomplish the following:
General description:
The Contractor shall cut and mulch in place all vegetation including any trees in the approximately 46 acres on New River Air Station as shown in the attached site plan in 4 locations and as described in this scope of work. Upon completion all areas shall be finished so that any future mowing can be performed with a brush / bush hog mower without damage to the mowing equipment.
LOCATIONS:
Areas 1 & 2: Located on the south side of AS4111 multi-level parking garage.
Area 3: Located inside the flight line fence starting at AS3003 and ending at the perimeter fence.
Area 4: Located on the south west side of Perimeter Road outside of the flight line perimeter fence nearest the CALA area
(Note; CALA is actually inside the perimeter fence and is a reference for location only).
Detailed requirements and specifications for all locations:
The Contractor shall;
a. Mulch in place all live or dead trees.
Any tree stumps shall be mulched down to no higher than existing grade height or lower. Note; See Special Instructions on
b. Mulch in place, all heavy vegetation, brush, understory, vines, branches, high grass, tall weeds etc. so that future maintenance can take place using finish deck mowers.
c. Trees and vegetation that is reduced to mulch can be left in place but not in piles or windrows. Evenly distribute or spread out the mulch on the ground in the vicinity the material was cut.
d. All vegetation residing in drainage ditches shall be mulched in place. Water shall be able to flow properly through the drainage ditches and culverts without being obstructed.
e. Trees may be removed off base by the Contractor for recycling as not to be wasted therefore saving wear and tear on equipment and fuel which will dramatically reduce this project’s carbon footprint.
f. Any established areas surrounding the project areas such as ditches, grass that is regularly mowed, concrete curbing, etc. that is damaged by heavy equipment and vehicles used within this project shall be repaired by the Contractor at the Contractor’s expense. Grounds damage includes but is not limited to ruts, holes, gouges, scrapes, scratches, broken concrete, tire tracks, etc.
