Description
The is a pre-solicitation sources sought notice for the project described below. No offers, proposals or quotes are being accepted at this time. There are no attachments at this time.
The BLM contemplates utilizing the Good Neighbor Authority to issue a contract for a Wet Meadow Restoration project in accordance with 16 U.S.C. 2113a. Under this authority, the Government is authorized to contract directly with a state, county or tribe for authorized Restoration Services, which include: treatment of insect and disease infected trees, hazardous fuels reduction, or any other activities to restore or improve forest, rangeland, and watershed health, including fish and wildlife habitat. This project will focus on watershed health in the Gunnison, Colorado. Period of Performance: 09/01/2024 - 08/31/2026
Short PWS Description: The BLM Colorado Gunnison Field Office has a requirement for wet meadow restoration using low tech, process-based methods in lotic and lentic habitats. Selected ephemeral streams in the Gunnison Field Office require the installation of beaver dam analogs, post assisted log structures, headcut control using Zeedyk structures, Zuni bowls, and native shrub and tree plantings. The contractor will be responsible for designing the necessary structures to accomplish the meadow restoration, constructing the designed structures, and monitoring the success of the projects.
Project on the selected stream would result in 200 acres of wet meadow restoration, with additional native seed planting on restored acres, and herbicide application if the area has invasive annual grasses in the years following the restoration work.
