The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is conducting market research to assist in the identification of innovative Missile Defense System technologies, architectures, concepts and Concept of Operations (CONOPS) to decrease the costs of kinetically intercepting ballistic, hypersonic, and cruise missile threats. For respondents that previously submitted any input under any previous relevant announcements that also satisfy this request, please consider an update or resubmission to ensure your idea is fully captured as part of this Request for Information (RFI). MDA is looking for new, innovative, and disruptive concepts. Responses to this RFI may be at the interceptor system, sub-system, component, or enabling technology level. MDA’s intent with this RFI is to capture a broad swath of enabling or revolutionary technologies, from small and large businesses, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers, University Affiliated Research Centers, Academia, and Non-traditional Defense Contractors.
The Government will use technical responses to support capability forecasts, technology program planning, and inform phased implementation planning, accelerated prototyping, as well as Research and Development investment strategy. This RFI is not a Request for Proposal and the Government does not intend to award a contract based on this RFI. As a result, potential responders should not construe any commitment on the part of the Government to a follow-on acquisition action linked in some manner to this RFI. The Government reserves the right to contact responders for clarification of technologies, concepts and for additional information via written correspondence or in-person, one-on-one meetings.
Participation in this market research is strictly voluntary. The Government will not pay for the information requested or any costs incurred as a result of this RFI, or any costs incurred by a participant electing to provide information in response to this RFI.
