The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Portland District (NWP) intends to negotiate/award a sole-source contract with WEG Electric Corp, to purchase the rebabbitting of two bearings for the Stations Service generators at The Dalles Dam, Oregon. The rebabbitt service are for:

One (1) Upper Guide Bearing Rebabbitt (109C129)

One (1) Lower Guide Bearing Rebabbitt (109C134)

REASON FOR SOLE SOURCE ACQUISITION:

The statutory authority for this non-competitive acquisition is 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a single source.

The bearings are required components of Station Service generators at The Dalles Dam. Electric Machinery Company manufactured the two bearings needing to be refurbished in 1957 and have the exact specifications to return them to their original dimensional tolerances.

The Government intends to advertise a solicitation for this project on or around 06/24/2022. At this time, a solicitation does not exist. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.

CAPABILITY STATEMENT SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

2. In the event that the organization is a small business, please state the category of small business, such as 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB/VOSB, Women-Owned Small Business;

The Government will evaluate the capabilities of an interested party based on their ability to manufacture and rebabbitt items equal to those listed above, and the proven reliability of those equal parts through evidence of their installation in other Station Service Generators similar to The Dalles Dam.
