Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District requires a contract to provide maintenance dredging of upper Wilmington Harbor federal navigation channel reaches including the Anchorage Basin, Between Channel, and 32-ft Turning Basin, and the North Carolina State Ports Authority (NCSPA) berth areas and Turning Basin Extension. The work will consist of removal and disposal of shoaled material that has accumulated in the channels and berth areas since the various areas were last dredged. The work will require a hydraulic cutter suction dredge. Dredging depths are 32’ plus 2’ of allowable overdepth for the 32-ft Turning Basin, 38’ plus 2’ of allowable overdepth for station 0+00 to 40+00 of the Anchorage Basin, and 42’ plus 2’ of allowable overdepth for station 40+00 to 84+05 of the Anchorage Basin and for Between Channel. Dredging depths are 39+ plus 1’ of allowable overdepth and 43’ plus 1’ of allowable overdepth for the NCSPA berth areas and Turning Basin Extension. The estimated quantity of material to be dredged is 1.4 million cubic yards. The Government furnished disposal area is the Eagle Island Cell No. 2 upland diked disposal area. The environmental window for dredging the NCSPA berth areas is 1 October through 31 January. The environmental window for dredging the Wilmington Harbor federal navigation channel reaches is 1 August through 31 January.
This solicitation is a 100% Small Business set-aside. The contract issued will be Firm Fixed Price. The Magnitude of Construction of this project is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.00. This solicitation will be issued in electronic format only and will be available on or about July 12, 2022. The bid opening date will be specified in the solicitation when it is issued. No additional media (CD-ROM, floppy disks, facsimiles, etc.) will be provided. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be available. Other methods of requesting a package will not be honored. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990 – Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction and the size standard is $30,000,000.00.
