Description

PURPOSE: The Orlando VA Healthcare System (OVAHCS) requires the procurement of an automated nucleic acid extraction system to support continued in-house testing service for precision and personalized medicine. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS / SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: The contractor shall provide an automated nucleic acid extraction system capable of producing high quality Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) and Ribonucleic Acid (RNA) from a variety of specimen types. a) The instrument shall be fully automated while producing high yields of nucleic acid from formalin-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissue specimens. b) The system must demonstrate Proven capabilities to process FFPE, tissues, blood, buccal swaps, saliva, and bone marrow to other extraction methods by producing large, intact nucleic acid fragments and high molecular tag coverage when applied to targeted capture based next generation sequencing panels documented in peer reviewed scientific literature. The associated literature needs to be included in your response. c) High throughput system that can process 96 or more specimens in a short duration of time. d) Open and flexible system allowing use of any magnetic particle-based kit to meet the application demands. e) Protocols already loaded into the system for extraction of a variety of specimens included but not limited to (FFPE) tissues, blood, buccal swaps, saliva, and bone marrow. f) Depth, height and weight not to exceed 27 x 24 x 15 in. (W x D x H) for placement and operation on standard laboratory benchtop. g) Consumable supplies to operate the purchased instrument for up to 500 nucleic acid extractions annually. h) We are seeking an instrument that is for research purposes and invitro diagnostic purposes. i) FFPE extraction shall be DNA and RNA.
