Description
HQ USSOCOM is requesting information from industry on its effort to continue production on the Suppressed Upper Receiver Group. The unit is currently manufactured by Sig Sauer under contract, and the Government is planning on extending the term of the contract by two years and add three option years for an additional five year’s total. This system will continue to be fielded and supported solely by SOCOM and the extension will provide numbers to Full Operational Capability and spares support for the projected life of the system.
The current SURG design has been developed and tested to ensure the use of a suppressor on a gas gun does not expose the operator to toxic fumes. The Government seeks vendors capable of producing a weapon with similar capabilities that have already undergone testing by an agency of the US Government. Interested parties should provide a 5 page white paper outlining your capabilities and the test methods and results for review.
