Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Qiagen LLC for a Rotor-Gene Q 5plex Platform and RGQ, IQ/OQ Service. The Qiagen Rotor-Gene Q 5plex cyclers are the most popular real-time PCR equipment in the European region, with over 160 WHO-supported polio diagnostic labs using them. Use of the Qiagen Rotor-Gene Q 5plex Platform is a requirement of the WHO for a reference laboratory to be able to evaluate the performance of the standardized molecular assays for Poliovirus detections and typing. The Qiagen Rotor-Gene Q Platform is designed significantly differently in comparison to other real-time machines in the market. It has a unique centrifugal rotary design with a rotor that spins the samples. Heating/cooling is achieved by rapid airflow in the reaction chamber. No other machine can replace the Rotor-Gene Q Platform due to its unique design.
