Center in Hot Springs, SD is hereby amended. The purpose of the Amendment is to provide questions, answers, and
clarifications received by the Contracting Office regarding the Solicitation. Please review the provided information
below. The closing date and time of the Solicitation remains unchanged at 05-24-2024 at 10:00 AM Central Time. Offerors

Note: The following information clarifies changes in work hours for Asbestos abatement and answers any Contractor questions received as a result of this Solicitation.
Clarification 1: See original Solicitation Attachment, D.1 SOW FINAL v3. Specifically see Paragraph 4. Other, 4.1 Working Days/hours.
Original Wording: Working Days/Hours. No work shall be done on Federal Holidays. All work shall be done during normal VA working hours (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Mountain Time, Monday through Friday) with the exception of the asbestos abatement in the lobby basement of Building 1. This work shall be done after normal working hours (after 4:30 PM MT), and/or on weekends, and will be coordinated in advance with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR). All work must be done in a manner that minimizes disruption to staff and patients in areas adjacent to construction areas.
Changed to Read: Working Days/Hours. No work shall be done on Federal Holidays. All ASBESTOS ABATEMENT work shall be completed OUTSIDE of VA normal working hours (e.g., after 4:30 PM MT to before 8:00 AM MT or overnight ). RE-INSULATION OF STEAM AND CONDENSATE PIPING shall be completed DURING VA normal working hours (e.g., 8:00 AM MT to 4:30 PM MT or days ). Either type of work can be completed on weekends if coordinated in advance with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR). All work must be done in a manner that minimizes disruption to staff and patients in areas adjacent to construction areas.
Question 1: Using glove bags will steam line be off?

Questions 2: Is existing piping copper or iron?

Questions 3: Because of existing pipes with Asbestos on them, Per Spec Insulation will not fit due to clearance.
Government s Answer: (If question is understood) After the asbestos is removed insulation should fit.
Questions 4: Is there going to be close parking to the buildings to get the materials unloaded and loaded?
Government s Answer: Yes, parking is close by each building.
Questions 5: Will we able to use Government trash dumpsters for the non-contaminated trash, boxes, etc.?
Government s Answer: No, government dumpsters are not available for contractor use.
