Description
The purpose of this requirement is to provide semiannual credentialing and privileging. The credentialing coordinator is responsible for organizing, maintaining, and verifying all aspects of the credentialing process for healthcare practitioners in a healthcare related facility. In all activities, the credentialing coordinator will comply with all military legal and regulatory policies and procedures. The credentialing coordinator is in charge of contacting military and employee medical staff, commanders, readiness NCOs, National Guard Bureau and the Office of the State Surgeon and its representatives, as well as communicating with outside healthcare facilities to maintain up to date files on physicians, dentists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, psychologist, and social workers. Additionally, the credentialing coordinator is responsible for answering inquiries regarding providers’ credential status and working with colleagues to ensure the accuracy of all files by tracking the expiration of licenses and certifications. The credentialing coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all providers’ military medical credential and privileging is initiated, maintained, and transferred as required, throughout the term of their military service or employment. The contract employee will also serve as the Office Manager for the MDARNG Office of the State Surgeon.
