Description

USGS Parking Lot Drainage Repair

Construction ¿ installation drainage pipe in the central drainage basin to the retention pond.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Idaho Water Science Center rear parking lot floods during periods of heavy rainfall rendering numerous parking spaces unusable and creates a safety hazard during freezing weather. To eliminate this, a drain line needs to be installed from the central drainage basin to the retention pond located east of BLDG 1. The requirement is to install approximately 200 feet of 4-inch drainage pipe in the central drainage basin to the retention pond located east of BLDG 1 (Newell). Pipe will be horizontally drilled from central drainage basin in the rear parking lot to release excess water into the retention pond. Inlet of pipe will be grated to prevent debris intrusion and positioned at or just below grade. Drainage pipe will slope towards the retention pond, to quickly evacuate excess water from the central drainage basin.

This action will be a total small business set aside purchase order.

All relevant project documents will be made available electronically to interested parties at no charge with the Request for Quotation (RFQ). We expect the RFQ to be available in late June 2022 with proposals due approximately 30 days thereafter. The Construction Wage Requirements Statute (prevailing wage, formerly Davis-Bacon Act) will apply. No offer guarantee is required with quotation.

We intend to award a total small business set-aside purchase order in accordance with the procedures of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures) and 36 (Construction and Architect-Engineer Contracts.)

The applicable product/service code is Z2LZ, ¿Repair or Alteration of Parking Facilities¿. The applicable NAICS code is 237990, ¿Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction¿, size standard $39.5 million annually. This acquisition is reserved exclusively for participation by small business concerns.
