Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to modidfy contract 75D30122C13551 with Biobot Analytics for wastewater testing. The original contract provides SARS-CoV-2 and Mpox wastewater surveillance testing to 500 wastewater treatment facilities nationwide. For each enrolled wastewater facility, the contract provides twice weekly quantitative SARS-CoV-2  and Mpox testing and once weekly SARS-CoV-2 sequencing for variant tracking. The contract includes wastewater sampling supplies and sample shipping supplies for enrolled facilities and covers the cost of shipping. Data is submitted directly to CDC at least twice per week for use in the COVID response. This modification will continue Mpox and SARS-CoV-2 testing from the end of the current CLIN to the end of the contract in order to avoid any lapse in service while the new contract is being solicited. No changes will be made to the sampling sites, frequency, or duration of the sampling period. The testing results will be submitted to directly to CDC to be used by the Mpox and SARS-CoV-2 responses at CDC and state and local health departments.

This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government.  A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.  Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  Any quotation/response should be emailed to William Brannen at VWL0@cdc.gov by 10:00 A.M. EST., July 18, 2023.
