Description

This document serves as an Invitation for Bid (IFB). The Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System (VASDHS) located at 3350 La Jolla Village Dr., San Diego, California 92161 has a requirement for construction services to renovate 17,230 square feet of the Clinical Lab/Pathology department and will allow the lab to correct FCA deficiencies, Life Safety, modernize space to operate efficiently to support all VASDHS clinics and departments, and to support current laboratory service function. The space requires asbestos abatement and significant updates to mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) code to comply with VHA handbook design requirements. Work will be performed in a functioning hospital environment. Contractor shall furnish all supervision, tools, labor, training, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to accomplish the work. The work includes, but is not limited to general construction, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, utility systems, necessary demolition and removal of existing structures and certain other items necessary for completion. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the terms, conditions, specifications and drawings (when available) of the solicitation and all applicable local and VA building codes.
