Description

Electrical Discharge Machining Centers (EDM) Combined Synopsis/Solicitation

This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.  This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; offers are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.

This notice is being issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ) under solicitation number 80GSFC22R0050 for a pair (two) of CNC Electrical Discharge Machining Centers (EDM) to be incorporated into a Manufacturing Cell (MC). The MC will consist of 1 CNC wire EDM machine and 1 CNC Die-Sinker EDM machine with an additional rotary axis interfaced with the wire machine. Both machines shall operate on 440 volts 3 phase, have multiple axis of motion controlled by an onboard computer system with a Windows 10 or later operating system and have similar graphical user interface, capable of reading G-code programming and have built in cycles that utilize operator inputs in the control to achieve desired cutting processes. Both machines shall have the ability to cross utilize work holding fixtures.
