Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Rock Island District has a two-phase design-build requirement to design and remodel to the interior of the existing administrative building and visitor center building, and the design and construction of a new garage/additional space facility, to replace an existing facility that shall be demolished/removed for USACE at Coralville Lake near Iowa City, Iowa. The remodel of existing Administrative Office space should be a priority to get project personnel back into permanent office spaces as quickly as possible. Then the remodel of visitor’s area of the building. There is an existing 3,700 SF garage/storage building is to be demolished/removed down to the concrete foundation. This structure shall be replaced by a building to be designed and constructed in a location designated behind and attached to the existing Administration Building. The desire is to provide “State-of-the-Art” facilities that rival similar use facilities in the private sector, using energy efficient and sustainable design. The overall goal is to provide functional, secure, visually appealing facilities that are a source of pride for USACE and the Coralville Lake.
