Description
Revised Request for Information (RFI)
Note: This RFI was initially posted on beta.sam.gov on November 10, 2021 (closed November 30, 2021). It is revised and re-opened to attract additional interest.
Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC (SRNS), which manages and operates portions of the Savannah River Site (SRS) under a Department of Energy (DOE) prime contract, solicits expressions of interest from potential suppliers capable of providing one (1) fully automated “turn-key” scanning system able to accommodate five (5) long fuel containers and two (2) short fuel containers for remote ultrasonic inspection of fuel containers. This RFI is issued to assist with finding potential suppliers interested in this solicitation.
The SRS is located approximately 15 miles south of Aiken, South Carolina and is 310 contiguous square miles.
Statement of Work (SOW) for Scanning system (see attachment) - Note: Pages 1 intentionally not included.
In addition to the SOW, this RFI revised on 2/23/22 to add the following Clarifications:
- For the OSC the through-wall scan needs to include the vertical main tubular wall and the bottom ring above the bottom plate, excluding the filet weld above the bottom ring (that attaches the bottom ring to the vertical main tubular wall).
- For the EBWR Square Bundle we need to include the bottom crevice region, including the polished weld area, and the bottom plate within the impact limiter ring inner circumference.
- For the L Bundle exclude the weld outside of the bottom attached impact limiter and include inside the impact limiter bottom plate area.
- For the GP Tube, scan bottom excluding weld.
- For the L Bundles and GP Tubes, the side wall bottom crevice is critical to provide scan data.
- Solid lead is prohibited. Lead within a matrix/composite material requires SRNS Criticality Engineering Evaluation for approval.
- No radiation level as above the water where the scan computer and personnel will be located. There is a vertical height limitation generally at 7 ft.
A supplier's response to the RFI does not guarantee they will be selected to participate in the RFP.
Suppliers responding to this RFI shall include evidence of the following:
- Past performance (i.e. Example of similar work)
- Submit a detailed Capability Statement
- Lead time for design, manufacture, testing and checkout
E-mail response addressing Items 1 through 3 above shall be submitted by 5:00 p.m. est. on 2/24/22 to Barbara McCarty at barbara.mccarty@srs.gov.
