Security Camera System

The camera system was purchased from SMARTNET, INC., a company that has been contracted Air Force wide to install the 24/7 access system as well as the cameras that surveillance the area when our facility is unmanned. Due to proprietary reasons, contractors other than SMARTNET would not have access to the software to make the needed changes with our current system.

The current Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) dated 11 May 2021, states that due to the need for Force Support Squadrons to provide 24/7 building/IT- based access to fitness centers the AFSV-FA (the certified AF Fitness Access System)  system was implemented.  This system allows 24/7 access to the facility after registration and use of the federal employees common access card.  Information collected for access includes Personally Identifiable Information (PII).  The only contractor who is authorized under the PIA for the Air Force to share PII.  
 
Additionally, there is a current Authority to Operate (ATO) provided for the AFSV-FA.  The ATO only includes equipment from Smartnet.  Any other equipment not falling under that contract is not authorized to operate and voids the ATO.
 
The current system was provided by SMARTNET, Inc which was placed under an Air Force wide contract to provide 24/7 access to fitness facilities.  Due to proprietary reasons, this contractor is the only entity that has the capability to interface the cameras with the 24/7 access system.  
 
The Air Force Wide contract is a NAF contract administered by Lackaland AFB which expires September 2022.
