The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6 intends to award a sole source award to Alcon Vision, LLC (AV) to acquire proprietary Eye Kits for cataract surgeries on behalf of the Fayetteville VA Medical Center located at 2300 Ramsey Street Fayetteville, NC 28301. Purchasing Eye Kits from another vendor would cause the Government to incur redundant costs as new Fluidic Management Systems would need to be designed to be compatible with the Centurion Phacoemulsification machine that is already in place. Fayetteville VAMC has already purchased, and presently successfully uses, a Centurion Phacoemulsification machine to remove cataracts and is seeking to maintain consistency of service.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation documents are available and telephone requests will not be accepted.
However, any business that believes it can provide Eye Kits and associated products may give written notice to Charlsi.Brooker@va.gov by 23 March 2024 at 1:00PM EDT. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement. All interested and capable respondents to this notice shall include company name, address, point of contact, phone number, System for Award (SAMs) Unique Entity Id Number, manufacturer authorization letter, authorized dealer, authorized distributor, or authorized reseller documentation.
Responses will be considered by the Government; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
