Every year, USACE attends and is represented at multiple conferences. At many of these conferences, the purchase of the booth rental acts as the conference registration or the conference space has a vendor the attendee(s) must use for booth rental. The recruitment of Hispanic employees, as part of the USACE Hispanic Employment Program, is an integral part of the USACE Equal Employment Opportunity program. USACE’s participation at career fairs and conferences targeted toward Latino citizens is part of the program to take affirmative steps to provide equal opportunity to minorities, women and people with disabilities in all areas of employment. The GMiS conference brings to one location over 3500 attendees, including nearly 1800 college students and recent graduates. It is the 2nd largest Latinocentric STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) organization in the country and affords USACE an unparalleled opportunity for spreading USACE brand awareness among prospective applicants and educators. The HENAAC conference also allows for concentrated hiring efforts in one location.
