Description
**AMENDMENT ISSUED TO EXTEND DELIVERY DATE FOR WORK TO JUNE 30, 2024***
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for services in which the government intends to acquire in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Fisheries Science Center, Auke Bay Laboratories has a requirement for paving at Ted Stevens Research Instittue, 17109 Pt. Lena Loop Rd., Juneau, Alaska 99801.
The Ted Stevens Marine Research Institute in Juneau, Alaska is soliciting quotes for patching of the parking pad at the Ted Stevens Marine Research Institute. There are four areas of repair that total between 800 and 1,200 square feet. The existing pavement has been cut out for the installation of a light pole and removal of a gate operator.
Scope of work includes:
- Grade area to drain and compact.
- Apply tack coating to all adjoining asphalt edges.
- Haul, place, and compact 2" hot mix asphalt as shown on drawings.
- All labor, materials, and equipment to perform this work

All Bidders are strongly encouraged to make a site visit to inspect all proposed work and to acquire all necessary site information to properly prepare their Quote. Failure of the Contractor to visit the site and acquire all necessary site information to properly prepare the quote shall not be acceptable cause to justify a later request for additional costs after Contract Award. Any questions that come up at the site visit must be provided to CONTRACT SPECIALIST via email at MIKE.D.ANDERSON@NOAA.GOV no later than September 8th. No questions will be answered on site.
Technical Approach and Capability. The offeror's approach to performing contract requirements and its capability to successfully perform the contract will be evaluated. A contractor that has performed a site visit will be regarded with higher technical capability unless the contractor can provide a detailed technical approach write-up with their quote for the Government to consider in place of a site visit.

All interested concerns must submit a quotation and documentation demonstrating the qualifications to provide service/supply as described above within fifteen (15) days of the publication date of this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotations are being requested and a written solicitation has been issued. A firm-fixed order is anticipated to be issued in within 24 hours of closing date and time. All responses must be in writing to heather.mahle@noaa.gov, and Subject line must reference ABL-23037.
This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $150,000.00. The attached provisions and clauses shall apply to this solicitation and resultant award. The provisions and clauses may be downloaded at http://www.acqnet.gov/far
