(iv) This procurement is set aside for __Total Small Business__. The NAICS code is _____115310_____________ and the Small Business Size Standard is __$34M_____________. (Exception 1- Fuel Management Services)
The intent of this contract is to secure services to mechanically cut and pile dead hazard trees that were identified during the Ranch Fire Hazard Tree Abatement project covered under the Deer Valley Roadside Hazard Tree Maintenance Project and Pine Mountain (formerly Pine Horse Valley) Roadside Hazard Tree Maintenance Project NEPA documents. The project was a salvage sale but dead trees not removed from site due to non-merchantability or other reasons still need to be treated. Trees to be cut and piled are both standing and on the ground as many trees have come down since. Contract objectives are to remove hazardous trees along the roadsides to provide safe ingress/egress for the public, land owners and emergency response resources. Also, piling of the trees that have already fallen will aid in future fuels reduction and fire suppression activities. Some of these roads also act as fuel breaks and provide strategic areas for fire suppression activities. The reduction of hazards and fuel accumulations along these roads is of high importance. There are 321 acres of mandatory items and 64 acres under optional items
