Special Notice Special Notice Page 3 of 3 Special Notice *= Required Field Special Notice Page 1 of 3 The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 17, intends to award a Firm Fixed Price, Sole Source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii) to VARIAN MEDICAL SYSTEMS, INC., 3100 Hansen Way, Palo Alto, CA 94304 for the procurement of the Aria, Mobius, and DoseLab equipment currently in use at VA Medical Center located in Dallas, TX, VA North Texas Healthcare System (VANTHCS). This order for Aria, Mobius, and DoseLab equipment maintenance and service, to be provided for a Period of Performance Base year + 4 Option Years of contract award, will be placed on a sole source basis with Varian Medical Systems, Inc. as the following circumstance in FAR 13.106-1(b) applies: only one source is capable to provide the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because Aria, Mobius, and DoseLab equipment is proprietary and may only be purchased and serviced through Varian Medical Systems, Inc. The VA North Texas Healthcare System at the VA Medical Center located in Dallas, TX currently utilizes Aria, Mobius, and DoseLab equipment, for the Biomedical department in Dallas, TX. The substitution of any other part or unauthorized service personnel other than that from the manufacturer, Varian Medical Systems, Inc., will void the warranty of the equipment and cause the equipment to not be incompliance with Varian software upgrades and firmware patches for Varian products. Delivery schedule will be discussed prior to issuing the contract award. The anticipated award date is September 18, 2023. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes; however, that all responsible sources and interested parties may identify their interest and capability to meet the requirements by submitting technical data for this requirement data within 6 calendar days of this notice posting (no later than Sept 16, 2023, by 10:00 AM CST, to Angela Kyte, via email at angela.kyte@va.gov which shall be considered by the agency.
