Description
DLA Land at Aberdeen anticipates issuing Request for Proposal (RFP) SPRBL1-22-R-0007 formerly SPRBL1-21-R-0015 on or about February 1, 2022, for one-time buy for 12,184 each of NSN 5855-01-504-4590, which is the Image Intensifier used on the AN/PVS-14 Monocular Night Vision Devices (MNVD). The Image Intensifier is a spare part for the MNVD. AN/PVS stands for Army/Navy Portable Visual Search. The Government anticipates award of a firm-fixed- price (FFP) Multiple Award – Spot buy contract(s) for a total quantity 12,184 each
This acquisition is in support of the AN/PVS-1). The AN/PVS-14 provides a critical night vision capability to U.S. Military personnel, enabling walking, maneuvering, weapon firing, short range surveillance, map reading, vehicle maintenance, and administering of first aid in moonlight and starlight conditions. This Night Vision Device can be used in a head mounted, helmet mounted, or handheld configuration. The AN/PVS-14 can also be used in a weapon-mounted configuration.
Based on market research, this is a commercial item, similar to commercial, off the shelf (COTS) product, there are several modifications made to the night vision equipment to meet the military specifications of the NSN which meet minor modifications as described in (3)(ii) of the definition of a commercial item as listed in FAR 2.101this item is manufactured for military and commercial; therefore, FAR Parts 12 and 15 will apply to this acquisition. This acquisition will not be set aside for small business. The Government intends to make multiple awards for this acquisition but reserves the right to make a single award. There are technical drawings available.
