Description
The U.S. Department of Transportation, John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (DOT/Volpe Center) Cambridge, MA, intends to solicit and award a sole source purchase order to Dr. David Jeong, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b). The Volpe Center has a requirement for Track System Safety Research Rail Integrity Consulting Services. The contractor shall provide engineering consulting services to the Volpe Center on track system safety research. This highly specialized, deep historical knowledge and technical expertise will assist the Volpe Center with providing support to the Federal Railroad Administration’s (FRA) Track Safety Research Program.
The Government intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order with one optional line item as a result of this solicitation. The base period of performance will be from date of award to May 1, 2023. The period of performance for the optional contract line item (CLIN) will be May 1, 2023 to May 1, 2024. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 541330; the Small Business size standard is $16.5M.
Interested firms must submit a written capability statement or quote to the above-named point of contact providing clear and convincing evidence of the firms' capability to provide the required services. Written capability statements or quote must be submitted within three (7) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Responses received after three (7) calendar days or without the required documentation will be considered non-responsive and will not be considered. The Government will not pay for any documentation provided in response to this synopsis and documentation received will not be returned to the sender. Telephone calls made in place of the required documentation will not be accepted.
