The Industrial Computed Tomography 1500/2500 (ICT-1500/2500) and associated subcomponents located in BLDG 984 is a sophisticated Computed Tomography (CT) inspection system. This system uses computed tomography to inspect solid rocket motors internally for anomalies in a non-destructive manner and are vital to the inspection and sustainment of the Minuteman III (MMIII) Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system.

The contractor’s responsibilities for the Extension of Life for the ICT 1500/2500 will include replacement of all related part and hardware of the ICT 2500 system to include Linear Diode Array, Scintillator Assembly, Reference Detector, Printed Circuit Boards (PCB’s), all included components within the Detector Assembly (power supply, mother boards, analog processor boards, detector modules which house the crystals, analog-to-digital converter, and detector input output boards), Motors and Controls, Motion Controls, External Encoders, Operational Software and Operation/Diagnostic Workstations.

All components within the ICT-1500 & ICT-2500 upgrade shall be upgraded to current, modern technology, and standards.

  1. This project is combined to maintain uniformity between both ICT-1500 and ICT-2500 systems.  This project is to be worked as a 2-year phased project to correspond with the government funding years. Contractor shall perform upgrade on ICT-2500 during FY24.The final project phase will need to be the x-ray source upgrade as lead times are much longer on these kits.
