Description
**UPDATE 22 MAY 2023: The Government intends to issue the solicitation sometime this week (week of 22 May 2023). A new site visit date will be provided with the solicitation.
On or about 18 May 2023, the Government intends to issue a solicitation for “Oahe Switchyard Disconnect Switch Replacement”. The solicitation will close on or about 20 June 2023. The solicitation is Unrestricted and Open to Both Large and Small Business Participation.
Site Visit:
A Site Visit will be scheduled and additional information regarding the site visit will be provided in the solicitation via FAR Clause 52.236-27. The site visit is tentatively scheduled for 24 May 2023.
Project Description:
This project will involve the replacement of the high voltage disconnect switches in the 115kV and 230kV switchyards which includes 40 manual switches, 13 MODs, and 15 grounding switches. The steel switch supports will be re-used with new mounting plates added for mounting the new switches. The suspension insulators connecting the switches to the generator step-up transformers and transmission lines will also be replaced. The horizontal 1 ½” bus sections between the breakers and disconnect switches will be replaced with 3 ½” aluminum tubular bus. All vertical bus sections will be replaced with AAC (all aluminum conductor) cables. An inspection of the 230kV and 115kV switchyard aluminum main and auxiliary buses will be conducted with a total allowance in the bid documents of 60 inches of weld repair for deficiencies found. Feeder and control cables will be replaced for the new MODs.
The Contractor will be required to commence work upon receipt of contract award and complete the work 730 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed, this is subject to change after solicitation issuance.
Estimated Construction Costs:
The estimated construction cost of this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00.
