In accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, the Contractor is the only known responsible source who can provide the items listed below.
The purpose of this notice is to inform the public that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) anticipates purchasing single cavity compression molds manufactured from p-20 steel with chrome finish on cavity and core and custom stacking trays 32.25 x 28.50 x 2.50 /lcm (wet mix/perform) formulation with wire rim reinforcement molded-in top perimeter to replace broken and non-usable pans within the facility. The pans will be placed in the bottom of cages in an animal facility. The custom-built molds will provide monkey pans that are explicitly designed to be autoclaved repeatedly for our autoclavable non-human primate racks. Current plastic pans are not autoclavable and, in an emergency, cannot be autoclaved as required by the NIH, Office of Research Services, Division of Occupational Health and Safety (DOHS). Stainless steel pans cannot be used for the larger primate racks due to their weight being a safety issue deemed by DOHS.
This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. However, any party that believes it can meet the requirements as stated herein may submit a written capability statement that clearly supports and demonstrates their ability to fulfill the requirement. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed award based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
It is anticipated that an award will be issued approximately five (5) days after the date of this notice unless the Government determines that another organization has the capability to meet this requirement.
