VA HANDBOOK 6500.6 MARCH 12, 2010 APPENDIX C C-12 Pre-solicitation Notice of Intent to Sole Source Pre-Solicitation Notice of intent to award a sole source contract.  This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source contract with:    Philips North America LLC (079503890) 2100 Bothell Everett Hwy Bothell, WA 98021-8431 ueiSAM: T41NB3MDAPZ6   The Department of Veterans Affairs VA Medical Center intends to award a purchase order, Firm Fixed Price, Sole Source contract to provide Philips EasyDiagnost R/F X-ray System Parts and Repair Services Large Business (LB) Philips North America LLC. This Philips Easy Diagnost R/F X-ray Unit is used in Radiology which produces images of structures in the body which is used for patient diagnostics. The x-ray machine is unable to do images and is impacting patient care. HV Transformer 2 Tubes are proprietary to the OEM Philips North America LLC. The authority for applying the Simplified Procedures for Commercial Items of FAR 13.5 is 41 U.S.C. 1901. This statute is implemented by for restricting competition on this procurement via FAR 13.106-1(b)(2). The intent is to procure these services on a sole source basis. No solicitation will be posted to Contract Opportunities.   The NAICS 811219.
