Description

Technical Question: On page 2 of the Scope of Work, it is written: "Personnel with American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety Certified (MRSC tm) credentials as MRSO (MRI safety officer) and MRSE (MRI safety expert) required to be intricately involved in the design process." Typically, these types of personnel are associated with the specific brand of equipment to be installed under an Owner Furnished Vendor Installed (OF-VI) project management or they are members of the staff of a facility.   Respectfully request to review the requirements to have these qualifications in the SF 330 or to announce which manufacturer of equipment VA plans to use in order to approach the authorized representative and put them on our team. Answer: The shall A/E provide an independent third-party to review of prepared designs for advanced imaging, physical room hazards, operational safety protocols, suite planning, and design.  These reviews include safety, technical, operational and life-cycle reviews of the designs, compared against contemporary international industry best practices for each piece of equipment for Radiology.
