Description
The Department of Energy/Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) for Light and Heavy Duty Transmission Line Steel Poles and Structures. . Please see Attachment A – Steel Pole Contract Specifications and related supporting documents[HD1] for additional information.
The purpose of this RFI is to conduct market research and obtain information concerning the ability of manufacturers to provide the light and heavy duty transmission line steel poles meeting the specifications in Attachment A. As part of this market research, interested companies shall provide information supporting their ability to meet the requirements including manufacturing facilities (location, size, production capacity, etc..), raw material suppliers utilized, average production lead-times, and prior experience providing transmission line structures. Other general information such as capability statements, small business size status, CAGE/DUNS, and overall experience with providing these supplies should also be provided as part of the RFI response if available. It is noted that this requirement is solely for the fabrication of the transmission line steel pole structures and will not include related foundation construction and installation activities.
Delivery will be to multiple WAPA addresses across various western states listed in the specifications, and shall be FOB Destination. Delivery points of the steel poles will vary from surface storage areas adjacent to all-weather roads to off-road deliverables to individual structure sites.
All responses provided shall reference the following RFI identifier: 89503123RFI000001. No specific format is requested for submission, however sufficient detail shall be provided to demonstrate the capability to provide to the government all of the items listed. It is anticipated FAR 19.505 “Limitations on subcontracting and nonmanufacturer rule” will be applicable for this requirement.
This Sources Sought RFI is issued for the purpose of market research only and the Government is in no way obligated to purchase any material as a result of this inquiry. The Government will NOT pay for any information submitted by respondents in response to this Sources Sought Notice. Additional information related to ongoing acquisition planning such as estimated dollar amounts, timelines, and any current or previous contract awards will not be provided to vendors. The Government may submit questions or request additional information from any vendor in response to this notice at any time.
Interested companies are asked to submit information electronically to Steve Turner, Contract Specialist, at STurner@wapa.gov within 10 days of this posting. Information submitted after 10 days may still be reviewed and considered by the Government.
