Amendment 0004: 

The due date for solicitation 12445224B0008 has been extended by one day, to  NLT 1300, Thursday, June 20th (amendment 0004)

This time extension (via amendment 0004) is to provide for “reading of the bids”.

Reading of the bids will take place, at exactly 1300 EST, Thursday, June 20th, 2024.

With you proposal submission, provide the signed / dated 1442 form (original solicitation), SOI (updated with amendment # 0003), and all four (4) signed amendments.

Pay special attention to amendment 0003, it “revises” the SOI ---use this version to submit your pricing

We ask that  you please email your proposal submission documents to the listed POCs  (John Davidson / Penny Zortman) by 11:00 AM EST, 20 June ---if at all possible, this allows for the time needed to compile / organize the proposals before the actual bid reading teleconference.

But---1300 EST is the absolute deadline for proposal submission

Amendment 0003:

The RFP is due NLT 1700 EST, Wednesday, June 19th, 2024

Purpose: The purpose of this amendment is to extend the proposal due date and to provide for the following, revised documents.

1. The Section J Attachment #1, SOW has changed to the updated version associated with this amendment.

2. The Section J Attachment #2 SOI-Road Work has been "REPLACED" to this version attached with this amendment ----There is now only one (1) base period and one (1) option.

5. Added Document - Attached with this amendment - Description of Work

Amendment 0002:

This amendment provides for a revised activity schedule, that features location coordinatees of the roads in the maintenance schedule.  Refer to the listed attachments within this solicitation for the documentation.   

The proposal due date remains unchanged--proposals remain due NLT 1700 EST June 6th, 2024. 

Amendment 0001: 

Project: FY 2024 Grandfather Road Maintenance

Purpose: The purpose of this amendment is to extend the proposal due date, from 5/31/2024 to NLT 1700 EST, Thursday, June 6th 2024.

Additionally, the pre-bid site visit date and address have changed.
The pre-bid site visit will now be held on Friday, May 24th at 9 AM EST.
Location: 109 E. Lawing Dr; Nebo, NC 28761.

Any / all questions resulting from the site visit and/or via email must be received NLT 1200 EST, Thursday, May 30th 2024.
Questions will be answered and compiled into an amendment.

All other terms & conditions remain unchanged.

Project: FY 2024 Grandfather Road Maintenance

NOTE:  Pre-bid Site Visit scheduled for May 20th, 2024 (Monday) - 10 AM EST 

Location: Pisgah National Forest Visitors Center, 1600 Pisgah Hwy. Pisgah Forest, NC 28768,

(attendance to the pre-bid site visit is not mandatory for proposal submission, but encouraged) 

Road Reconditioning of 37.9 miles in the Grandfather Ranger District. Work Includes the blading and shaping the existing traveled way and shoulders, including turnouts, to produce a uniform surface, consistent to grade, and crowned or cross-sloped as indicated in existing surface to design specifications. Maintain ditches, including lead-off ditches, by removing rock, soil, wood, and other materials. Maintain ditches to achieve proper drainage. Suitable materials up to 4 inches may be blended into road surface. Remove waste materials and debris from roadway. Clean drainage structures, inlets, catch basins and outlets. Cleaning and reconditioning are limited the first 3 feet of the inlet and outlet. Place materials away from inlet and outlets. Recondition inlet and outlets by field methods such as jacking out or cutting away damaged metal which obstructs flow.

Option Items. Additional 12.7 miles of road reconditioning work in addition to 2,080 tons of ABC Stone placement and compaction.
