This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested.

The National Institute of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS intends to solicit a quote and enter into firm-fixed price EEG  Module Equipment with Alpha Omega.

The proposed vendor, Alpha Omega is the only manufacturer/supplier worldwide to offer the preventative maintenance service for the Alpha Omega, making them the Sole Source.  No other company currently exist that can perform the required service or calibrate the instruments.

The purpose of this correspondence is to request a PO to purchase preventative maintenance agreement is needed to provide the Neuro surgeons the ability to perform surgeries on patients using the Alpha Omega with MER and EEG/ECOG/EMG/Sensor Module.  Without putting a preventative maintenance agreement in place, this put the Neuro Omega HeadStage at risk of not performing at its optimal capacity thus putting the patients at risk for a poor surgical outcome.

This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
