This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested.
The National Institute of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC),Critical Care Medicine Department (CCMD) intends to solicit a quote and enter into firm-fixed price for Equipment , with GYRUS ACMI,INC.
The Spiration Valve System which is under GYRUS ACMI is the only FDA approved device indicated to manage post-surgical prolonged air leaks (PALs) following lobectomy, segmentectomy and Lung Volume Reduction Surgery (LVRS), under the Humanitarian Device Exemption. This minimally invasive endobronchial valve therapy can favorably affect the recovery of patients and ultimately shorten their hospital length of stay/.
The purpose of this correspondence is to request a PO to purchase The Spiration Valve System from Gyrus ACMI, Inc. d/b/a Olympus Surgical Technologies America is the only FDA approved device indicated to manage post-surgical prolonged air leaks (PALs).
This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
