Description

Description: THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE FOR A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP). Proposals shall only be requested and accepted from contractors who are a 100% Small Business owned AND certified in System for Award Management (SAM, https://sam.gov).

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), United States Forest Service (USFS), has a requirement for but not limited to the following:

12445224R0005: GAOA Roan Mountain Water System & Road Improvements, National Forests in North Carolina.

 Major components of work include improvements to paved and gravel roads, parking areas and associated medians; well, water system and reservoir improvements; well control building construction; minor building repairs; replacement of drainage structures and culverts; repairs to two observation decks, and associated work per the plans and specifications.

Specific work items include but are not limited to: construction survey and staking, soil erosion and pollution control, clearing and grubbing, selective demolition, roadway excavation and embankment, aggregate placement and compaction, asphalt paving, concrete curbing, concrete flatwork, waterline construction, wellhead completion, concrete masonry unit building construction, masonry veneer, well control building electrical and plumbing; minor building repairs consisting of rough and finish carpentry, metal fabrication, and  and moisture protection; seeding; planting, mulching and fertilizing; and all other items necessary to complete the project in accordance with the plans and specifications.

 Project Location

The project site is the Roan Mountain Recreation Area.  The site address is 147 Gardens Rd, Bakersville, NC 28705.

 Solicitation 12445224R0005 for this effort will be posted to SAM.gov (https://sam.gov) on or about February 6, 2024. This solicitation will contain all necessary specifications, drawings, and other information necessary to submit a proposal for this project.

A pre-bid site visit is currently planned and will be scheduled in the RFP. The solicitation will include site visit information, as necessary.

Disclosure of the magnitude of construction projects:  The estimated cost of the total project is expected to be between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
