Description
The purpose of this project is to repair by replacement portions of the existing Airfield Security Fence, A.K.A. Deer Fence in the clear zone area of the airfield at Laughlin Air Force Base (LAFB). The existing fence is comprised of wooden and metal posts with areas having metal hog wire, chain link fencing fabric and barbed wire. The total length of the fence is approximately 12,500 linear feet (L.F.) with four (4) existing gates for vehicle access and two (2) existing gates for pedestrian access. The intention of this fence is to prohibit deer, rabbits, hogs, and other animals from accessing the airfield pavements. In its current state, the fence does not reduce the airfield incursions by terrestrial wildlife. The Contractor will replace the areas of fencing identified, retrofit existing gates, and improve existing fencing areas as identified in this Statement of Work (SOW).The acquisition will be set aside Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). The NAICS code for the acquisition is 238990 and the applicable small business standard size is $16.5M.
