Description

“Scope of Work: The Architect-Engineer (A-E) shall conduct an engineering design study, to include a Class 4 cost estimate (accuracy defined as – 20% to +30%) and provide recommendations to upgrade and/or replace the existing outdated switchgear and motor control center equipment in Mission Buildings B820 and B830 at Cavalier Space Force Station (CSFS), North Dakota.

Goal: Provide cost effective, feasible, and sustainable options that will upgrade the Tactical Support Switchgear (SWGR) and Motor Control Centers (MCC) while optimizing the p[power distributions system’s energy efficiency, reliability, resiliency and performance. The upgraded equipment, SWGE and MCC’s must retain their local and remote controls, their voltage and current protection and monitoring as well as any existing capabilities. Additionally, the study must be conducted within the context of the defined short-term and long-term mission requirements of CSFS. Given that existing manufactured parts are no longer available to conduct routine and preventative maintenance on the switchgear and corresponding equipment, the study must explore both upgrading the existing equipment with modernized technology as well as replacing the existing equipment via reengineering.
