Description

SPECIAL NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT: This is not a request for quote. This is a notice of the Government s intent to issue a sole source award. This Notice is to announce that the Department of Veteran Affairs, Consolidated Mail-Out Pharmacy (CMOP) located in Tucson, AZ, is proposing to negotiate a contract with Priority Healthcare Distributor Inc. dba Curascript Specialty Distribution (Curascript), a small business on a sole source basis for the pharmaceutical Abaloparatide (NDC 70539-0001-02) 80mcg/0.04ml Pen 1.56ml. Statutory Authority Permitting Restricted Competition: FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedure for Certain Commercial Items. The Statutory authority for applying the Simplified Procedures for Commercial Items of FAR 13.5 is 41 U.S.C & 1901 and is implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) for restricting competition on this procurement. Competition is restricted on the procurement for the reason below: Unusual and compelling Urgency The Government believes the reason justifying this sole source procurement is that Curascript is a distributor of the manufacturer Radius Health Inc. and has the product available. This is not a request for quotes and any interested party may notify the network contracting office (NCO) 15, via email to Brigitte.Kidder@va.gov to express their ability to provide these products for future needs.
