Description

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) intends to release a solicitation to provide support for USAID/Mali activity listed above-entitled USAID Salam. USAID/Mali intends to solicit a contract that will be awarded through a competitive process.

USAID Salam will contribute towards improving social cohesion in conflict affected areas in central Mali. This five-year activity has two intermediate results: (1) Empowered communities to prevent and resolve conflicts, and (2) Households’ capacity increased to address their urgent needs. Through this activity, USAID will acquire services from a contractor that will entail: (1) Weekly meetings where the implementation team provides update on the day-to-day's on-going activities; (2) Collaborating with local communities for interventions; and (3) Coordinating with USAID as issues arise during implementation.

Activities under this Contract will include:

  • Conduct training and capacity building sessions to increase community leadership in conflict resolution.
  • Assist community leaders to identify youth and women who could play a substantive role in conflict prevention and resolution.
  • Develop and implement a simplified monitoring system for the local conflict mediation institution.
