Description
The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities, and qualifications of various members of industry, to include the Small Business Community: Small Business, Section 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUB-Zone), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB), and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB). The Government must ensure there is adequate competition among the potential pool of responsible contractors. Small business, Section 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, & EDWOSB businesses are highly encouraged to participate.

Objective: To find sources that are qualified to meet the supplies/services as listed below. Note that the specific requirements are subject to change prior to the release of any solicitation.
The USGS Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center in Wood Hole, MA is requesting an integrated chirp source, receiver, motion sensor, and depth sensor to be contained in a single unit (tow vehicle) that can be towed sub-sea surface from a research vessel. The tow vehicle must also be able to mount with manufacturer standard equipment to a Universal Sonar Mount (USM). Capability includes 2 x 2-16 kHz transducers, Polyvinylidenefluoride (PVDF) receiver array, motion sensor that provides heave, pitch, and roll data and a pressure depth sensor. Chirp signal processing electronics and motion sensor are included within an electronics pressure housing that is integrated with the tow vehicle.
