Ammendment 001 clarifies work to be performed under ITEM 3- Okhissa Day Lake Day Uesa_ Demolition and Installation.

Okhissa Lake Day Use - Demolition and Installation: Install accessible Picnic pad: Remove existing pea gravel from first picnic site closest to parking lot and dig out necessary material using the existing wood boundary as the form for the concrete slab. Concrete slab will be 4" thick and be flush with the existing sidewalk. Depth of the area inside of the form may need to be dug out to get 4". Place 4" x 4" steel welded wire mesh and support on chairs or bolsters. Float and finish the wet concrete. Place temporary fencing around site while concrete cures. Pad is approximately 12'x12' with a 4'x6' walkway.

Type of Contract: This is a Request for Quote (RFQ) which will result in award of a firm-fixed price contract. Award will be made to the lowest price, responsive-responsible contractor.  Only one award will be processed.  The line items will not be subdivided.

Magnitude: In accordance with FAR 36.204, the magnitude of this project is: a) Less than $25,000.

SET ASIDE:  This RFQ is set-aside 100% for small businesses. Size Standard: $19M

Location:  All three projects are located on the Homochitto Ranger District, Meadville, Mississippi 39653. 

 Item 001: Homochitto RD sidewalk remove/replacement 1200 Highway 184 East, Meadville, MS 39653

 Item 002: Clear Springs Rec Area Concrete Pad Demolition/site reconditioning, 3888 Clear Springs Road, Meadville, MS 39653

Scope of Work:  This is a consolidated requirement for three work locations on the Homochitto Ranger District (RD) located in/about Meadville, MS 39653.  A summation for the types of work (not all inclusive) is as follows:

                Item 001 Homochitto RD sidewalk Demolition and Installation.  Remove the 4” reinforced concrete sidewalk. Remove the old garbage can pad. Remove the concrete steps. Remove the old brick wall adjacent to steps.  The sidewalk will be constructed 5’ wide, 49.5'” long, and 5” thick with handrails. Handrails will meet ABA Guidelines. The rail will be 36” tall, with 2 rails and 2 post, one- and one-half inch diameter rail and post. The posts will be a minimum of 12” in front of the first step and 12” behind the last step.

            Item 002 Clear Springs - Demolition:  Remove the existing concrete slab at the bottom of the hill from the group site.  Size of the concrete slab is 28'x35' with a concrete footing in the ground of 18" deep.Thickness is estimated to be 4-6”.  All utilities should have been turned off on site, but possibility exists that something was missed.  Any disturbed ground areas will need to be Seeded/Fertilized with Bermuda and Bahia grass seed, and 13x13x13 Fertilizer after project is completed.  Remove all debris from Forest Service.

RFQ and Documents: The RFQ and related documents will be available for download at http://beta.sam.gov on or about 04-26-2024.    Questions will not be responded to prior to 16 April 2024.  No hard copies of the solicitation will be mailed out.
